On 22 October, Navy Women's Crew christened their newest eight-oared shell, the Crew of 1978 - First Women's Team.  Named in honor of the first Navy Women's Crew, four members of the original crew were able to attend the ceremony - Ronda (Bottero) Kopra '81, Noreen (McQade) Leahy '81, CDR Wendy Lawrence '8.  Director of Athletics, Jack Lengyel and Assistant Athletic Director Dave Davis spoke at the ceremony, commemorating the accomplishments of the first Navy Women's Crew.
