Parents, rowers, and friends of Navy Women’s Crew – The coaching staff would like to welcome you to the start of the fall racing season. After the success the team enjoyed in the spring, the excitement mounts as the women gear up for another year on the water.
We begin the season with a large and talented group returning to the Varsity Squad. This year’s team is led by it’s eleven seniors, 1/C Madeline Boe (Winchester Bay, OR), 1/C Jenna Gladem (Littleton, CO), 1/C Maggie Hollyfield (DeSoto, TX), 1/C Austin Jones (Nashville, TN), 1/C Abby Maxwell (Salina, KS), 1/C Abby Mennerich (Newburgh, NY), 1/C Melinda Parrish (Powell, OH), 1/C Daphne Ponce (Carbondale, IL), 1/C Lindsay Spiese (Stuttgart, Germany), 1/C Lizzy Ring (Cary, NC), and Team Captain 1/C Diane Cote (Worcester, MA). This year’s returning letter winners are 2/C Sarah Atwell (Wyomissing, PA), 2/C Darray Hunt (Cheyenne, WY), 2/C Fiona McFarland (New York, NY), 2/C Cate Ortman (Moline, IL), 3/C Kate DePooter (Kenneshaw, GA), 3/C Gretchen Driessnack (Woodbridge, VA), 3/C Kerry Hannon (Bethesda, MD), and 3/C Michael Hrenko (San Diego, CA). In addition to our returning Varsity members our Plebe/Novice women are eager to get out on the water and begin their rowing careers.
